Paddy has been tutoring science and maths since he was sixteen and continued to do so at university. While at University he also worked for an educational consultancy that specialised in English and Maths.
For his masters Paddy studied the whole range of concentrations of Lithium-ammonia solutions using 7Li VT-NMR, 1H VT NMR, X-band EPR and SQUID measurements. This was to probe the nature of the electron in solution from room temperature down to –70 degrees Celsius, and in some cases down to –150 degrees Celsius. Basically he looked at the system in great detail. First class marks were awarded for this work.
